Research Interests

​

Biotransformation of agro-industrial products to produce high value added molecules. Use of microorganisms for the production of bioflavors, biocolors, biosurfactants, lipids, vitamins, antimicrobial compounds, prebiotics, thickeners, and more. Evaluation and optimization of fermentation processes; and extraction of microbial compounds of interest for use in the food industry. Use of agro-industrial by-products and residues for value adding and reducing costs in bioprocesses. Co-production of microbial metabolites in a single bioprocess.
